Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart.

How Can I Help?
Getting involved at the school is a great way to support the community, support your Metzger student and to stay "in the know" with all things at the school. Here's how to get started!
Complete your Volunteer Application and Background Check with the district. All volunteers will need to have a background check.
We have a variety of roles that could use your expertise!

- Valentines and Halloween Class Parties
We have ideas or bring your own! The PSO will help organize other volunteers to help you in constructing the perfect party. Halloween and Valentines are such a fun time for kids, kids love having "their grownup" there to celebrate with them!

- Update Website
Occasionally we need to add or take away some things from our website. Be the point of contact when those things need to be updated. A simple way to be involved and help out with the little things.

- Design the Yearbook
The details of the yearbook have been finalized and a contract signed but, we do need a volunteer to familiarize themselves with the software and upload school photos occasionally throughout the school year. In addition to designing the yearbook, you will collaborate with school staff on said designs as well as the ordering processes for students.

- Solicit Restaurants for Fundraisers
A very successful fundraiser for our schools are “Restaurant Nights”. You will solicit local restaurants to donate proceeds of sales to Metzger. Contact info for restaurants will be provided, your role will be to call, schedule dates and be the point of contact for restaurants needing tax receipts. Feel proud knowing your time spent will bring in over $2,000 in additional funds to your school.

- Facilitate the Book Fair
Kids LOVE the book fair!! Caitlin Henig will train you on the inner workings of the Scholastic Book Fair. You will work alongside her this year and assume the responsibility of the coordinator for the 24/25 school year. This is a fun event that happens once in the fall and again in the spring. In addition to needing a new coordinator we are always looking for parents to help the day of sales in the library working the cash registers and tidying up after students. This is a fun way to get to know kids, teachers and make your kids feel special seeing their parents at school!

- Plant Sales Coordinator
A super easy fundraiser to run! Collect order forms and funds, place an order with Al’s Garden wholesale department and bring a smile to everyone’s face when they come to pick up their beautiful plants and flowers. This is a great way to meet other Metzger parents and familiarize yourself with people at our school.
