October 8th Meeting NOtes

Fall is here and the Metzger PSO is in full swing getting ready for Halloween Parties. We are also in the middle of our Fall Fundraiser which ends on Oct 18. Principal Swindle attended and provided information on Metzger's Map to Success and answered parent questions and concerns.

Fundraising Updates:
  •  The Fall Fundraiser has started and information packets were sent out last week. Our goal is to raise $10,000 between the Cookie Dough fundraiser and the Stars fundraiser. Parents can participate in either fundraiser. Last day for the fall fundraiser is October 18, 2019.
  • Our Script (gift cards) coordinator is working on preparing our application and getting everything ready to start selling Script next months.

Volunteer Updates:

  • Halloween Parties are coming up on October 31st.If you’d like to sign up to volunteer in your child’s classroom, visit this signup link. Principal’s Update:
 Jessica Swindle, Metzger’s Principal attended the meeting and provided the following information:
  • Coffee with the Principal will now be every week with every other coffee being in Spanish or English. More information will be coming out.
  • The school has a Map to Success, a document which shares what work the school commits to ensure the success of every child and to help students navigating poverty, students coming from multilingual homes, and Black, Pacific Islander and Latino students. Principal Swindle shared the goals in the major areas of Instruction, Equity, and Positive Behavior.
  • Open Forum: During this meeting we had an open forum and discussed how recess and lunch are doing. For more information, check out the meeting
